Martin Luther King, Jr. Day

Today is Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, and the perfect time to learn more about this amazing civil rights leader. You can check out books from the library or learn more about the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial that was completed in Washington, D.C. in October 2011. The National Park Service notes that this memorial for Martin Luther King, Jr. “is the first African American honored with a memorial on the National Mall and the fourth non-president to be remembered in such a way. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s message is universal: a non-violent philosophy striving for freedom, justice, and equality.”mlk-panorama
